FRAGRANT WORDS
Blending hues, mine arms shudder,
wielding a brush dipped in dye
Yet with vines of fragrant words,
I must drape vistas for an emperor's eye.
Doubt stills the tunes that stem
in my heart, amidst a crowd
In solitude though, I feel but glee
so unabashed, I sing out loud.
Wronged and struck, though I gasp
my rage beats hard to find escape.
Yet with time and luck of mine,
I will win and leave my foes agape.
Flushed and dark though my slumber,
often swept on nightmare rides
Buds of verses bloom and breed,
in dreams does my inspiration hide.
Bless my giver for all my wrongs
thrive do I, in these riches he spared.
Had he gifted but only virtues,
I would have wondered whether...he cared?
