Frog In The Well
My days flit by
the nights just melt
into the sky
that rises with the sun;
But there's no dew
on my window sill;
In my home, or in my dreams
there is no one.
If I climb up two feet,
I slide down one
and all my smiles
are empty of fun,
I am the frog in the well
with no story to tell;
I am the mirror and the reflection.
If I wake up to the toll
Of chapel bells lone
I fall asleep to just the same;
My woes stay in my soul
unwrapped,
My story wont be worth any fame.
Some may come
but many depart,
All actors of a supporting cast;
They make a mark
carve their initials in my bark,
Then the sap bleeds and the
memory fades,
the traveller has long forgotten my shade.
If I will for freedom
I entwine in life more
and drown deeper in the mirage
of the shore,
I am the frog in the well
who can't swim in the sea;
I am the fault recurring for eternity.
